A year ago Smith Freed Eberhard had the opportunity to move to our new Portland office and we are excited to show off the progress we’ve made renovating our new space. We spent the previous twelve years in the iconic U.S. Bancorp Tower, or “Big Pink” as it is famously referred to in Portland, about a mile away from our new location – our old office served us well, and we made great memories there, but we couldn’t be more excited about our new location.
Our new office space is located in Portland’s Columbia Square Building, in central downtown Portland. One factor motivating our move was this amazing new location – we are now just two blocks away from the new Multnomah County Courthouse. As a firm of litigators, it is hugely advantageous for us to have this ease of access to our own arena. Another factor motivating our move was the opportunity to downsize and minimalize our space (something we were fortunate enough to have planned pre-pandemic), resulting in savings and efficiencies that we plan to reinvest into our customers and infrastructure.
We have spent the last year transforming our new office space and we couldn’t be more excited to share pictures of the progress we’ve made!
There are a few features of the new space we would like to highlight:
Collaborative spaces – We selected our new office space with the intention of creating an open and collaborative work environment, allowing our attorneys and staff to work together to find the best possible solutions for our clients.
Local artwork – We wanted an office space that fostered innovation and creativity as well as a vibrant firm culture. We focused on including bright colors, inspiring artwork, and unique details around our office to reflect these values. We are proud of our local community and consider ourselves lucky to be able to practice law in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. To reflect this commitment to our community, we chose artwork for the office that highlights local Portland landmarks, such as our famous bridges, and famous local figures. All of the artwork was completed by local artists here in the Portland area.
Location – We are thrilled to be located in central downtown Portland, just two blocks away from the new Multnomah County Courthouse. This allows our attorneys convenient access to our arena where we do what we love, try cases to win.
It has been an exciting year at SFE and we look at this move as an opportunity to focus on our mission and commitment to our clients as a firm. The space itself reflects our principles and purposes as an organization as well as our unwavering commitment to creating value for our clients.
