Smith Freed & Eberhard Presented at the 2nd Annual PSAA Spring Symposium

Smith Freed & Eberhard attorneys attended the 2nd Annual Puget Sound Adjusters’ Association’s (PSAA) Spring Symposium in Seattle, Washington. The symposium took place on Friday, April 26th at Billy Baroo’s at Foster Golf Links.

Smith Freed & Eberhard brought a new meaning to the phrase  ‘Higher Education’ in our presentation titled, “Washington Goes to Pot: The Legalization of Marijuana in Washington State and Its’ Effects on Property and Liability Claims.”

This presentation gave attendees an informative look into the ins and outs of Washington’s recent legalization of marijuana. In addition, attendees gained an understanding of some of the new challenges in claims handling, coverage questions, and investigation considerations such as:

•    Will insureds be able to make claims for stolen marijuana plants?
•     What are the implications of the marijuana DUI Standard?
•     How has legalization affected other states?
