The Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our daily lives. Our concern for the health and safety of those in the workplace is at the forefront of our mind during this global health emergency.

We are writing to assure you that Smith Freed Eberhard has a business continuity plan in place that will allow us to continue to serve our customers while focused on reasonable safety measures for firm personnel.

Our ongoing investment in a robust technology infrastructure and information security systems gives us the confidence that our customers and personnel will experience minimal differences in day-to-day operations during this time.

Specifically, our systems, controls, and policies allow our attorneys and staff to securely access our network while outside the office. Our legal teams use firm issued, encrypted laptops. We maintain security by utilizing MFA (multi-factor authentication) to access our best in class VPN (virtual private network) where we can securely retrieve documents, collaborate, communicate, and provide the prompt legal service you have come to expect, consistent with our duty to safeguard client confidences and information.

We have created the following response hotline for our customers. We do not anticipate communication with our customers, clients or business partners will be an issue now or in the future, but as part of our continuity plan, we feel it is important to create safeguards. The hotline will be checked regularly and distributed to the leadership throughout the firm.
