Meet AJ Ricca, Our Newest Associate Attorney at Smith Freed Eberhard

Please join us in welcoming AJ Ricca, our newest associate attorney at Smith Freed Eberhard.

AJ is an associate attorney on Ryan McLellan’s team, and his practice focuses on commercial liability defense and personal lines defense.

AJ graduated from Lake Superior State University with a B.S. in Political Science and Public Administration. After that, he worked for the Michigan House of Representatives, United States Senate, and different government relations firms. AJ focused on tax, education, and commerce policy.

AJ graduated from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark in January 2020. During his years in law school, AJ worked for a circuit court judge, a federal court judge, and at two civil litigation firms. Following graduation, AJ worked at an insurance defense firm, a workers’ compensation defense firm, and a general litigation firm in Portland.

AJ grew up in Grosse Pointe, MI, right outside of Detroit. AJ can be found sailing, playing squash, or watching sports outside of work.
