Each year our attorneys and staff vote on which charities the firm should support for the year. One of the chosen charities in 2013 was the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). We then made it our personal mission to send three children to the MDA summer camp in July. MDA camp empowers campers to stretch out of their comfort zones and grow in independence as they spend a week away from home; permit someone other than their parents to provide personal care; and make new friends.
The cost of sending one child to the MDA Summer Camp is $800. In just one month, the staff was able to raise enough money to send one child to summer camp. The Firm matched that amount, raising enough money to send two children. Through webinars and after hour CE events, our clients helped us raise enough money to send a third child.
The MDA recently recognized Smith Freed & Eberhard for the firm’s support during 2013. We would like to pass this recognition along to our clients, who supported the MDA along with us. In 2013 we were able to raise $2,000 for research, in addition three children were sent to the MDA summer camp!
