Partner Jeff Hansen Nominated to the American Board of Trial Advocates

Portland, Oregon, October 22, 2010– Smith Freed & Eberhard Partner Jeff Hansen has been appointed as an Advocate to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). ABOTA is an organization composed of equal numbers of plaintiff and defense trial lawyers. Admission is by invitation only and requires, among several things, significant and verified trial experience in courts of general jurisdiction. Mr. Hansen will be one of 32 advocates currently appointed from the state of Oregon.
Mr. Hansen is an accomplished trial lawyer, having conducted over 100 jury trials and 270 arbitrations during his 18 years of experience. Throughout his career, Hansen has represented clients in matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, toxic exposures, RICO, fraud and other commercial claims. He has also litigated employment claims and has successfully represented businesses in a wide variety of matters.
Mr. Hansen is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Litigation Counsel of America and has been named an Oregon Super Lawyer for several years. He is also a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel and the Society for Human Resource Management.
Mr. Hansen earned his B.A. from the University of Portland and his J.D. from Drake University School of Law.
