Professional Experience
Doug’s practice focuses on personal injury defense and he has counseled on a number of other matters including fire loss, CD and other claims. Previously, Doug spent four years at Metropolitan Public Defenders, Inc., the largest indigent defense provider in Portland. He started in their misdemeanor section handling the lowest level criminal cases but quickly was moved to the minor felony and finally the major felony section handling the most serious cases. Before that, Doug worked at Stewart Sokol and Gray, a construction litigation firm. During law school,
Doug clerked for a Federal Magistrate and directed the Inmate Legal Assistance Clinic.
