Starla’s strength is her creative approach to problem solving. Her “think outside the box” perspective allows her to act quickly and aggressively to achieve a creative resolution to complicated and unconventional disputes.
Prior to joining Smith Freed & Eberhard, Starla defended public entities and served as a mediator for the Marion County Circuit Court. Starla is regularly called upon to sit as an arbitrator in contract disputes.
Starla gives many presentations to businesses and insurance professionals regarding Oregon and Washington law, which recently included, the Portland Business Journal employment webinar: “How Not to Get Sued”; “The Liability of Gossip in the Workplace,” “Protecting Your Assets,” and “Hot Topics.” She also gives legislative and case updates for corporate clients.
