Automotive Defense Medical Expenses

Automotive Defense - Accident Medical Expenses

Plaintiff was alleging $145,000 in damages, which included $28,000 in medical expenses for a shoulder surgery, arising from an automobile accident. Plaintiff alleged that defendant cut him off by making a left turn in front of Plaintiff causing Plaintiff to crash into Defendant. Plaintiff claimed he located a witness and obtained a written statement from the witness who would testify on the plaintiff’s behalf. Dylan Becker of Smith Freed & Eberhard used a private investigator to find discrediting information about the alleged witness and Plaintiff. With the use of some information obtained by the investigator, Mr. Becker then took Plaintiff’s deposition and secured testimony from Plaintiff damaging to his case. The defense subsequently served the witness with a deposition subpoena. Prior to the deposition of the witness, Plaintiff dropped his case against the defendant. With the help of the investigator, Mr. Becker was able to save his client over $145,000 in damages and further defense fees.
